Music To Die For Recordings, a pioneering independent label, completes the trifecta release of its new innovative annual compilation album with ‘Artists To Die For Expanded & Remixed’, out today.
Embracing the principle of “Omne trium perfectum” (everything that comes in threes is perfect), the three-part series showcases the label’s commitment to unveiling future star talents and new projects.
The series began with ‘Music To Die For Presents: Artists To Die For v1’ in September. Featuring 12 original tracks across various genres, from dreamy electronica to acid-infused dance tracks, it marked the label’s eclectic approach and dedication to enduring music.
The ‘Edits’ version, tailored for streaming and radio, followed in late 2023. The trilogy culminates with the ‘Expanded & Remixed’ version, which drops today. This final installment encourages creative freedom within the Music To Die For family, with each artist turning in a remix of a label mate’s track. The result is a dynamic collection of future-facing sounds and fresh interpretations.
Johnny Hudson, the visionary leader of Music To Die For, champions a collaborative ethos, fostering a vibrant artist community. “This approach promotes collaboration and sound cross-pollination, enhancing connection, growth, and evolution within our label,” says Hudson.
‘Artists To Die For Remixed & Expanded’ exemplifies this collaborative spirit. Highlights include GIVE LOVE’s remix of Fauxplay’s ‘Ascension’, Eyal F.’s take on Stuart King’s ‘Aloe Vera’, and magic.made.by.r’s unique dancefloor rework of Mallinder’s ‘Heavy Rotation’. The album also features standout contributions from Hudson, the.CHAIN, Indie Elephant, and others. It concludes with Ryan Martyn’s innovative mix of Indie Elephant’s ‘Other Side’, blending vocals with Spanish guitar.
Hudson comments: “The album reflects a remarkable level of creativity and originality, paving the way for a new era of music that will influence both listeners and dancefloors worldwide.”
With five Beatport Top 5 releases and eight Hype Chart No.1s, plus a host of EPs and artist albums planned for 2024, Music To Die For is shaping the future of the electronic music scene. Renowned for its genre-defying releases, the label promises everything from peak-time dancefloor hits to spiritually enriching tracks.
